BOARD CHAIR

Michelle Mahovlich has been an integral part of Anney’s Closet for seven years, serving in multiple roles from donation days to her current positions as Volunteer Coordinator and Donations Coordinator. She has built and nurtured relationships with more than 55 local social service agencies and community organizations that refer clients to Anney’s Closet.

Michelle brings significant governance and leadership experience to the Board. She is in her sixth year as a Board Member and has served as Past Chair and Immediate Past Chair of Engineers and Geoscientists BC, the governing body for more than 44,000 professional engineers and geoscientists in the province. Her non-profit Board experience also includes roles with Rock Solid Foundation (anti-bullying), Juan de Fuca Soccer Club and Lacrosse, and service as an elected Councillor for the District of Highlands, including appointments to the Capital Regional District.

With a 14-year career at the City of Langford, Michelle brings strong community connections that support Anney’s Closet’s partnerships and fundraising efforts.

BOARD VICE-CHAIR

Rhona Beaumont is a respected non-profit leader and strategic professional, currently serving as President of Soroptimist International of Victoria Westshore and as Western Canada Region Co-Chair of Fundraising. She brings more than 20 years of senior management experience in the telecommunications industry, with strong expertise in strategy, governance, and stakeholder engagement.

Rhona operates her own intuitive coaching practice and holds postgraduate qualifications in strategic management. She recently completed the Executive Directors’ Thriving Non-Profits Program, further strengthening her governance and organizational leadership capacity. Deeply committed to empowering women and advancing community impact, Rhona brings thoughtful leadership, sound judgment, and a results-driven approach.

BOARD TREASURER

Sandra Sterling-Weicker has been a committed supporter of Anney’s Closet Society since its inception, through her involvement with Soroptimist International of Victoria Westshore. She brings more than 30 years of senior-level communications experience and leadership within the non-profit sector, along with strong strategic insight, sound financial judgment, and a collaborative governance approach.

Sandra is deeply committed to organizations that support and empower women and recently completed the Thriving Non-Profits Program, further strengthening her focus on effective governance and organizational sustainability. Her thoughtful, informed approach to decision-making and long-standing dedication to the sector position her well to contribute to Anney’s Closet’s continued growth and impact.

BOARD SECRETARY

Deb Alcadinho has served on the Anney’s Closet Society Board of Directors since its incorporation in January 2025 as Secretary. She brings extensive experience as a social impact strategist and business consultant in the Canadian non-profit and social enterprise sector, alongside over five decades of entrepreneurial experience, founding and operating eight businesses. 

Deb previously served as a community fund grant administrator for Western Canada’s largest co-operative, overseeing millions of dollars in grant funding and reviewing more than 3,300 grant applications. Her background provides strong governance, funding, and accountability expertise to support Anney’s Closet’s sustainability and growth.
